Life changing
Thus far I like it, I already am starting to feel better.
1 month to largely clear up years of IBS then 2-3 sessions per week to maintain it.
Really changing my life for the best so far 🥲

By way of background, I’m 35 years old and for circa 10 years I’ve suffered dreadfully from IBS and the pain, nausea, bloating etc. that comes with it. Whilst in London I spoke with numerous Dr’s and dieticians, one who said I had an allergy to garlic - turns out I don’t. I just couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. The more I got stressed about that, the more my symptoms flared, to the point where I was sleeping sitting upright for months on end. Fast forward to 2020 when I visited a fantastic gastrointestinal Dr in Melbourne, a leader in her field, and she knew in an instant it was IBS and set out a few steps to address the issue. She started with looking at my diet and making changes (FODMAP), she checked my bloods (then booked me in for an iron infusion), did a colonoscopy, prescribed vitamins and fibre, set me on a course to increase fluid intake and exercise / more incl. meditation and finally gut hypnotherapy. Admittedly, I thought the latter was a little hocus pocus and I went into it thinking it wouldn’t do anything. How wrong I was! Whilst my Dr recommended a specialist who did gut hypnotherapy, they had a waiting list of 2-3 months, they were 1 hr drive away and then Covid lockdowns kicked in. That’s when I found Nerva (and cue the clapping hands). I did Nerva every evening before bed which was very convenient. I like that I can do it anytime, anywhere especially as I don’t have much spare time. I also like that Nerva reminds me to do the hypno session, again as I’m usually running around / flat out and at risk of forgetting to do it. If I can’t make the session the reminder is set for, I’ll push it back to later that evening - something I wouldn’t be able to do if I was booked in to see someone. Also a specialist gut hypnotherapist is more expensive than the app. Once I completed the course, I felt so much better. I wasn’t bloating up as much or at least feeling the pain that goes with it and nausea was almost zero. I’ve been sleeping better too, not once needing to sit up to sleep. I have less flare ups but they still happen every now and then - but less frequently than before. When they happen I immediately turn to Nerva, it’s there at my fingertips when I need it. The flare up tool kit is just want I need to manage my symptoms. I’m not one to write reviews but I would encourage anyone suffering from IBS to give it a go. Whilst it might not work for everyone, it’s completely transformed how I feel, eat and live. Thank you team Nerva!!

What the reviews don’t cover.
Nerva is a self-guided gut-directed hypnotherapy program that works with the gut–brain connection. Reviews describe individual experiences; clinical research looks at outcomes across a group. Explore Nerva’s published research to understand the evidence and what was measured. Individual results vary.
Some members discuss bloating in their reviews, including how it affected everyday life and their experience with the program. Read the selected reviews mentioning bloating. These personal experiences cannot predict your own results.
Nerva focuses on the gut–brain connection, while a low FODMAP diet focuses on dietary triggers. They are different approaches. Read more about low FODMAP and Nerva, and discuss dietary changes with your dietitian or clinician.
The program uses guided audio sessions you can listen to in a quiet place. Members describe different ways of making time for it. Explore their experiences of building a routine, or see how the program works.
Members recorded them on their own phones and shared them with Nerva. They are unscripted. What each person describes is their own experience; individual results vary.
