Have done a couple of days and it is relaxing but honestly don’t find it much different from a headspace meditation. Also frustrating that they ask how much you can dedicate to the hypnotherapy but don’t have sessions that match. For example I selected 15 minutes and every session I have been assigned is 20 minutes long.

So far so good
So far seems to be developed with great intentions and thought. However, it would be nice if the trial period were extended to 30 days rather than 1 week.
Also would be nice to have the option to to older sessions with no impact to weekly progress.

Shorter sessions
The reason I rate nerva only 3 stars is because I wish the sessions were only 5-10 minutes. i find it difficult to have motivation to do 15-18 minutes and i get distracted

Basic but effective with poor audio quality
The good thing about this is it can help for most people with IBS.
This is countered by the high cost and low quality. There are around 15 hypnosis recordings, which are repeated. The volume of many of them is uncomfortably inconsistent throughout.…

My gastroenterologist suggested I try it. I’ve been having a lot of bloating and really bad stomach aches and medications were not helpful. I love more natural approaches to managing IBS. This didn’t do much for me. The sessions repeat from week to week and some are better than others. But overall didn’t have any effect on my IBS. Perhaps if this was done in person it would be different.

Interesting but so expensive
I would be keen to follow this through for 6 weeks but $200 is a bit beyond me - it would be great to have a 6 week option so you can check out the whole program

This was recommended by my Dr.
I had high hopes for this program. Unfortunately this chronic GI issue is still as repugnant as ever. I find the mediation sessions helpful and primarily utilize them at night before bed, as this is truly the only free moment I have in the day.

I wish the program did not lock the days ahead

I wish I can access the future days of the program. E.g. I finished the first day of the listening portion yesterday but didn't completely end it for the last 3 seconds or so. So the first day didn't get marked as complete and now it's the second day and I was looking forward to listening to it. But because I didn't mark complete yesterday, I just marked it today and it's counting today as my first day and I have no way of listening to the second day. I wish the program would have somewhere that made that more clear.

I do enjoy this program but find that it’s too much money. Sometimes symptoms take longer to get better which is different for each person, and after the 4 weeks you don’t have access to anything new except for the flare up exercises. If there was a coaching element where you could get support for your particular symptoms while using the app or somehow personalize the experience more it would be worth the cost in my opinion.

I enjoy using this app for the relaxation. It has maybe lessened some of my discomfort but no resounding effects. For what I have gotten out of it, the cost app is too high. I would also think for this price we would get more updated sessions on a regular basis. I would suggest some that we could use to go to sleep to. Thank you for the little help I have gotten.

I really wanted Nerva to work for me but unfortunately I fell into the bucket of ~20% of people who don’t really respond to hypnotherapy. Overall I still liked the app. It did help me in other ways (trying my best to maintain a positive mindset, trying to be more resilient, etc.) and the sessions and breathing exercises are very relaxing. The biggest con- I wish the pricing of the app was more upfront and transparent. I paid 200 (USD) for an annual subscription, but if you look online in blogs/forums you see many other price points discussed. Additionally I was charged foreign transaction fees, which maybe I should have expected but that caught me a bit by surprise. Would have been nice if that was mentioned at purchase because I would have used my travel credit card to pay in that case since it waives those fees.

I love the program especially the 4-5th week with sensation coming down as I am always highly sensitive for all sensations. I don’t think it is helpful for someone like me being a nature person to talk about clean, tidy, park etc. I calm down in wild flower meadows, the forest etc. I also am very bad still, not worse then the beginning but not better with my diareah. The calming effect of the hypnotherapy is not having an effect on my physical symptoms. Therefor I gave 3 stars. I am aware I have to see my docter but it is near I possible to get hold of her. I have very little energy and get all colds etc that are around me, so my immune system is really not good.

I'm not sold.
So far, I've read a little about IBS, most of which I already know, and the 15-17 minute/day sessions don't seem long enough, $199/year for a 6-week 15-17 min hypnotherapy session seems steep and I'm not sold.

I would rate this a five if the app wasn’t so buggy for extremely basic things. The therapies are great and I genuinely feel like they’re helping with my abdominal pain. However, for such a high yearly price, I’d expect for the app to easily track number of sessions I’ve had and when I’ve completed something. I usually have to re-listen the end if a therapy so it notes it as complete. Also my number of days streak keeps going up and down randomly.

What about other GI issues
This is a nice app but it’s all directed towards IBS. My GI doctor recommended it because I have unresolved/unexplained dysphasia. Individuals such as myself have other GI issues, so it would be great to incorporate other materials into the app.

I’d highly recommend this!

I want this concept to work so so badly and I truthfully do think it helped! I’ve been on quite the IBS journey and I don’t believe just cutting out foods is the only answer. I think it makes a ton of sense that we could trick the brain into adjusting since the brain to gut connection is so strong. My only problem with the app is that it’s literally listening to the same 5-10 recordings over and over, every day. As someone who practices guided meditation, I just would really appreciate if there were a few different options. I’ve tried hypnotherapy in different settings and am aware that I don’t get fully hypnotized so maybe I’m over aware of this and it could possibly not bother others but I just would love to get back into it if y’all could creat a little more variety in the hypnosis recordings. Like I said, still appreciate the app and what they’re trying to convey! Great concept and I’m glad people are combining science and traditional medicine to get new outcomes.

Please pass this on to the team who produce this app and ask if the hypnotherapy sessions could be either or with both versions being provided.

THE BAD:
The app is a glorified audio player without the benefits of one such as varispeed. It plays the same programs over and over, and worse, you can’t even choose from all of them. The initial “breathing/sense/release” sections are dictated by the whims of the app.
Charging a hefty subscription for a handful of different meditation recordings that never change, some of which you can’t even always access, is taking the proverbial.

I am getting bogged down with the fact that that the same material , word for word is being used for every session. It is like you started off with a program and ran out of ideas just as the program got off the ground. I am having a hard time keeping my interest up and resent having paid into a program that just repeats itself. I have hung on this long assuming that I will continue to learn more but am really thinking it is time to bow out and ask for a refund . This program is way over priced.
