Hi. I have had IBS for approx 30 - 40 year. I was taking 6 to 8 gastro stop every day just to survive. I tried everything for Chinese herbal tea acupuncture to every little thing that I could try to fix it. I hated going out. My kids hated it. Everywhere I went I ended up in the toilet and that was if we made it to where ever it was we were going to. I said no to so many invitations. I remember being so bad that I felt like I just didn’t want to live like this any more. I would be better off dead. When I read about NERVA I was very skeptial. I saw the add and read it quite a few times and thought what’s the use nothing helps me. Then my daughter sent me the link. I thought maybe this is a sign I should try it. I didn’t have anything to lose but the IBS. I was feeling good results in a week or two. It has now been about 5 months. I have so many good days now. I cannot believe it. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it’s a miracle cure. But I am learning to relax. I go so many places now without panicking. I do have bad episodes now and then. But I do my relaxation exercises and it helps so so much. Like this morning. I was having a really bad morning. I kept doing my breathing exercises. I told my grandson don’t be surprised if we need to stop at a couple of toilet on the way (normally I would have taken gastro stop and cancelled going anywhere) but I didn’t. I went. I didn’t stop at any toilets on the way and I made it there. It was so so good. I don’t know how many times now I have gone shopping and not visited a toilet at all while I was there. I would recommend NERVA to anyone with IBS to give it a go. I know I’m not completely without IBS but I haven’t been this well for years I have been this relaxed in years either. I am still going to continue listening to the recordings for a little while more. I want to get better and better. Thank you NERVA.

I was highly skeptical of hypnotherapy but after doing some research and discussing this program with my doctor, decided to give it a go. The results were nothing short of astounding. After only a few sessions, Nerva kick-started my sluggish digestion into gear and “got things moving”, resulting in an immediate weight loss of about 5 lbs. I had more energy during the day (most likely because my body was eliminating waste more effectively than it had in years) and I felt more comfortable in both my clothes and my skin. During the 6 weeks of daily Nerva sessions, I also slept better. I typically completed my daily sessions in the early evening. While I would often fall asleep during the latter half due to being in a deeply relaxed state, I would awaken refreshed, be able to tackle my nightly to-do list, and also found myself better able to fall asleep again later and stay asleep for the entire night. Having tried the low FODMAP diet in the past, I can honestly say that Nerva is much more effective, time efficient, and stress relieving. I found the low FODMAP diet to be stress inducing due to the need to read labels, consider portions, and eliminate many foods that I previously enjoyed. This diet caused me a lot of social anxiety as well since most social events are centered around food. I now know that my IBS is clearly linked to my brain-gut connection and not necessarily high FODMAP foods. My gut is a lot happier now that I am able to eat a highly varied diet and Nerva has helped me re-program the signals my gut receives when under stress. Bottom line: I highly recommend this program. My sincere thanks to Dr. Simone Peters and her team for putting together this incredible resource! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The change you are effecting in people’s lives is far-reaching and it is REAL!

I am a skeptic when it comes to this type of stuff. I went in thinking it probably won’t work but I could use some new meditations! Week 3 rolled around and I took two car rides that are normally super stressful for me. I normally leave an hour or more early so I can stop several times to go to the bathroom. However both times I drove straight through. The first one it didn’t even click until I parked and was 30 mins early! Then I was like well that was probably a coincidence. Then came the second stressful car trip. Same thing happened. I was in shock. Then I rode with my someone who can make a none anxious person without IBS have issues haha! Nothing. No IBS. no car anxiety! Just a great drive and great conversations. No swearing or searching out bathrooms along the way!! I then lapses week 4. The next car trip I was anxious and had to stop 1 time. My husband said guess you should start that program back up. So I did. Now I’m on my last week and I’m hooked. I have seen therapist, doctors, did deep breathing and meditations and taken tons of medications - nothing has worked for 14 years! FOURTEEN! Six weeks in and I’m taking car trips again. In fact I’m planning on doing my first long distance trip in years next month and LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!!! Download this app and give it a try. Do the plan like they ask! It makes a difference. I’m no longer a skeptic and now a believer! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I’ve had quite serious digestive issues on and off for over 5 years. They tend to flare up to a debilitating level (ie not being able to work, enjoy holidays, leave the house for long periods of time) for months at a time and I’ve undergone all types of invasive testing and diets to no avail. Nothing has worked so I’ve been willing to try absolutely anything as the years have gone on. Worth noting that Ive previously been very skeptical of mediation in general, just not my thing. Amazingly, after about 10 days I started seeing a dramatic reduction in my symptoms after using Nerva everyday. I must caveat that simultaneously I’ve been following a relatively low FODMAP diet and consciously trying to reduce stress on my body, but without a doubt Nerva has contributed to the reduction in symptoms (I have tried these things before Nerva and they have not helped at all). I am now on week 5 with nearly 3 clear weeks of virtually no symptoms. This is the best my stomach has been in years and I feel happier and healthier than ever. I have no doubt that there is a mental component to this, and believing that it will help you may well be a factor in its effectiveness. That being said, if you have tried everything and don’t know where else to go, it is a very small price to pay for something that could change your life for the better. Thank you to those who made this app, it has truly changed my life !

By way of background, I’m 35 years old and for circa 10 years I’ve suffered dreadfully from IBS and the pain, nausea, bloating etc. that comes with it. Whilst in London I spoke with numerous Dr’s and dieticians, one who said I had an allergy to garlic - turns out I don’t. I just couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. The more I got stressed about that, the more my symptoms flared, to the point where I was sleeping sitting upright for months on end. Fast forward to 2020 when I visited a fantastic gastrointestinal Dr in Melbourne, a leader in her field, and she knew in an instant it was IBS and set out a few steps to address the issue. She started with looking at my diet and making changes (FODMAP), she checked my bloods (then booked me in for an iron infusion), did a colonoscopy, prescribed vitamins and fibre, set me on a course to increase fluid intake and exercise / more incl. meditation and finally gut hypnotherapy. Admittedly, I thought the latter was a little hocus pocus and I went into it thinking it wouldn’t do anything. How wrong I was! Whilst my Dr recommended a specialist who did gut hypnotherapy, they had a waiting list of 2-3 months, they were 1 hr drive away and then Covid lockdowns kicked in. That’s when I found Nerva (and cue the clapping hands). I did Nerva every evening before bed which was very convenient. I like that I can do it anytime, anywhere especially as I don’t have much spare time. I also like that Nerva reminds me to do the hypno session, again as I’m usually running around / flat out and at risk of forgetting to do it. If I can’t make the session the reminder is set for, I’ll push it back to later that evening - something I wouldn’t be able to do if I was booked in to see someone. Also a specialist gut hypnotherapist is more expensive than the app. Once I completed the course, I felt so much better. I wasn’t bloating up as much or at least feeling the pain that goes with it and nausea was almost zero. I’ve been sleeping better too, not once needing to sit up to sleep. I have less flare ups but they still happen every now and then - but less frequently than before. When they happen I immediately turn to Nerva, it’s there at my fingertips when I need it. The flare up tool kit is just want I need to manage my symptoms. I’m not one to write reviews but I would encourage anyone suffering from IBS to give it a go. Whilst it might not work for everyone, it’s completely transformed how I feel, eat and live. Thank you team Nerva!!

I was skeptical that this would help at first! But things are changing! Positive changes are taking place! Thank you!
I was very sceptical about trying this program, but it did actually help. Worth the money and time.
Despite scepticism, this plan seems to be having an improving effect. It would be nice to have a bit more variation in the meditations though, as although repetition is the key, they do get a bit dull and boring.

I was very skeptical of hypnotherapy, until I actually gave it a try. Four weeks into the program, my symptoms had disappeared, and stayed clear for three full months. I am now in “maintenance phase”, and it’s honestly nothing short of amazing. Along with avoiding my known food triggers, this has been the most life-changing way to manage my condition. The only reason why I give this four and not five stars is because they removed my favorite calming intro (“breathe”), and also don’t ever seem to add any new content. There have been updates to the scripts that address the digestive system, but no new relaxation methods or new “dream scenarios”. I also personally don’t like the “shutting down your senses” method. It moves way too fast; it would be better if the senses focused on one thing and not multiple, and really take it in in its detail. I feel like I’m chasing around the room with my eyes and ears, jumping from one thing to another, so I never use the “sense” recordings anymore. Since “breathe” has disappeared too, that limits me even further in the relaxation methods on offer.

The only real difference that would of given this app a 5-star review would be the repetitive sessions, I’d just like some more variety as well as the ability to choose what kind of hypnosis was going to be done in that days session. At least that’s what I’ve experienced in the initial course. Other than that, I really enjoyed the narrator, the ease of use & most of all, the little 3-5 minute reads to accompany the session. Will try my best to do this as frequently as possible going forward, personally I’m unsure if it’s helped much with actual symptoms - but my anxiety & ‘catastrophizing’ has certainly been reduced
I’ve been receiving these targeted ads for a while and was a bit skeptical, but one week in and I’m actually enjoying the sessions. Only reason for 4 stars is that it’s early in the process! Hoping for some major results ✨🙏🏽

Was recommended this app by my ND. I tested out the free trial and was unfortunately only able to try it for two days as I was too busy to stay on top of it. I was skeptical about the “hypnotic” aspect, but I honestly think that it did work - I’ve meditated before but never been put in such a different state that I couldn’t recognize! And the stories told were quite soothing and comforting to think about and hold onto when feeling anxious outside of it. Overall a good experience I just wasn’t able to keep up with it to experience the full healing it says it can deliver. Devina and Tia (customer service) was also extremely helpful! Will try again someday.

This is my first week using Nerva Hypnosis. I started with doubts, having spent my whole life coping with IBS-D and searching for relief. I am an 84 year old retired trauma Informed mental health counselor. I am also a complex trauma survivor. During this first week I am noticing subtle changes in my conscious awareness of tension in my body and in my outlook on life. I am using breath many times during the day to relieve tension. I am also feeling a fragile sense of hope that I could feel better living with this body for the rest of my life❣️ I have been using NERVA hypnosis and breathing techniques for more than a year now. It has been a very challenging year for me at 85 and 1/2 years of age….many losses including my home and most of my belongings in Hurricane Helene. I use a hypnosis session every morning as my body awakens to tension and bowel activity. I seldom have explosive diarrhea anymore and for the first time in my life that I can remember, I experience regular formed bowel movements. I still have IBS symptoms during the day but am able to reassure myself that they are not a dangerous illness. Then I am able to cope with the symptoms with breathing and go on with my day. Eating is still a challenge as many foods in the USA exacerbate my symptoms. I have been using a plant based nutritional supplement from a company in California called Kate Farms which has helped me maintain my weight and soothes my digestive system. I am so grateful to have Nerva hypnosis sessions always available to help me cope with stress and anxiety in my everyday life. I can imagine using them also to ease my way through the dying process when that occurs for me. Thankyou NERVA❣️

I admit, I was skeptical. But reading about the studies with Monash university and experiencing the hypnotherapy, I am feeling these sessions and look forward to them. I am cautiously optimistic that this could help. It would be nice if we could access the articles again like we can access the hypnotherapy sessions. I listen to them 1-3 times daily. So calming.

Like many others I was surprised to find that this is 6 recordings repeated (7 repeats over 6 weeks). However the trial period times out just at the moment you realise this so not a good start on feeling a bit conned but putting that aside is it worth it? Yes it probably is. But that’s only because, if like many other reviewers, lying awake at night with unbearable pain you’d give anything for a bit of relief. Which was me several months ago after years of suffering flare ups. I managed to apply myself with the programme fully for two or three weeks but soon after found it impossible to concentrate I was so bored and unmotivated. I often also fell asleep. I stopped at week four finding that twenty minutes a day felt like an eternity. I have noticed an improvement in my flare ups - they do seem to be less severe. However... I would strongly suggest that some of the benefit is simply from stopping, lying down and doing a simple breathing exercise. I’m not 100% convinced that the hypnotherapy suggestions are having the effect. But either way, if you’re reading this, £50 is probably worth it because no doubt you’ve tried everything else. But having said that the subscription model is nonsensical and to be honest so is the app which adds nothing at all. It includes little bits of reading etc but it’s all garbage, with or two minor exceptions. It would make much more sense to release as an audio book on audible for £50 or £60 rather than have a subscription model.

I really wanted to give this app a chance, it looks really good and there’s a lot of good reviews as well! I made an account and did the first steps it asks for the “ day” but there was nothing else after. There was no button or anything there that would allow me to start tracking my symptoms, and when I contacted support they didn’t really give me an answer besides purchasing the subscription in order to do so.. which is confusing and not very helpful when you don’t have the full amount to pay now and just want to see how the app is before purchasing the subscription. I would love to give it a chance again if they do fix that, I could’ve possibly just not seen where the option was but I know I searched everywhere so I’m not sure… a little disappointed I won’t lie. But I did appreciate the educational information it gave, so that was a plus at least.

Definitely feel calmer, think I managed 8 weeks daily and a couple more weeks most days. Miss it if I don’t do it but unsure if any significant improvement in gut symptoms as they vary anyway. Having told you this may be all you need before signing up they do advise to watch what you eat midway through. Doesn’t feel good value after initial 6 weeks, even during the first 6 weeks the same sessions are repeated but there’s no way to rate them so you know which you get on with better - some I found a bit annoying. Haven’t really done the breathing, there are only 3 variations and I’m not sure they felt right for me.

I found the entire Nerva program extremely unsatisfying. I often found myself stressed and angry as a result of doing a session, especially when it explained how calm I should be feeling, when I fact I was actually feeling pain and extra anxiety/stress from doing a session and being unable to feel the things I was being told to feel. I have small children and a busy life, and often I found myself not having time to do a session for 3-4 days, often doing it too late in the evening and wanting it to be faster or feeling obligated and not in the right headspace for a session, ending sessions in anger and frustration and not being able to relax. The way the app is designed is it assumes you do it every day, so if you skip days it feels like you have to catch up, or feel like you missed important sessions. I found zero benefit to my symptoms, not a single difference, even when I managed to do the sessions regularly for a two week period. I feel like it was a complete waste of money and I am angry I spent so much on no benefit. It needs to adapted to more busy people and be designed in a way that doesn’t require commitment to do it every day, including the app design/structure. The sessions themselves shouldn’t talk so explicitly about how someone should be feeling, as people like me who weren’t feeling that way feel like they are doing it wrong or have something wrong with their brain. It’s hard to not take the instructions literally. Needs more disclaimers in the sessions that feeling certain ways is ok. I’m incredibly disappointed. I ended up giving up and not doing most of the program and feeling like I wasted my money. The only benefit I got from it was having a holistic view of myself focusing on my body and stress and how it relates to my IBS, which is saving it from a one star review. I must be an outlier in the 20% who don’t find the benefit, I also think perhaps my brain does not suit hypnotherapy, I couldn’t shake the feeling the whole time that it was not scientific and not going to work despite working extremely hard to be positive and not skeptical. :(

Hi fellow IBS sufferers! You might have given in to a sponsored ad on your social media - how do they get us? - and decided to try out Nerva. This is my own experience after 4 weeks of Nerva, before unfortunately giving up. I’m a big sceptic by nature but wanted to try yet another potential therapy to cure my IBS-D which I’ve had for about 10 years +. First thing, don’t know much about hypnotherapy but I’d say this app is lazy: they play you the exact same recordings every week! What is the point of paying for the subscription? You might as well record the scenarios with your phone during your free trial then play them again for the following 5 weeks and save yourself £50. They ask you at the beginning what type of IBS you suffer from, as if they’re going to personalise the stories to you. This is not happening, everyone gets the same thing. So I keep hearing “you’re going to empty your bowels easily and effortlessly” despite the fact that I suffer from diarrhoea everyday. I read an article online saying the app got an investment of £1 million. Really? That’s the price for 6 recordings? The voice actress must be Meryl Street (I wish). The positive points are some of the readings they post everyday: it starts with common things you know already as an IBS sufferer but eventually brings up interesting thoughts and concepts so worth a read. I’m afraid hypnotherapy didn’t work on me and I’d rather have 15mn meditation instead. Thanks anyway to the people who created the app as i appreciate that there’s a big need for more tailored solution for IBS and I do hope that it helped others.
