Takes more time than it says
I don’t understand why your app says it takes only 15 minutes when every session is 18-20 minutes plus reading. I’m enjoying it but the app isn’t truthful about the time needed and needs to be corrected

I can’t speak highly enough of this program. I was very pleasantly surprised to notice a decrease in my symptoms from the very first time that I used it! It is so wonderful to feel better! I enjoyed the relaxing voice of the woman who lead the hypnosis as well. I loved the scenarios that were used and looked forward to listening to the program every day. I am so grateful and will also look into the Mindset program as well.
I relax fine but then have periods where I don’t hear the speaker talking. Does this mean I am falling asleep? I don’t feel tired when I listen to the session but I do really relax. Will I get benefit if I don’t hear sections?

I understand that the purpose of the hypnotherapy portion is to set the stage for one to accept suggestions to calm the autonomic nervous system. This helps to heal the gut. I find that, in addition, it can help with other anxiety-producing occurrences I face daily; “catastrophes". I have used a form of hypnotherapy for years as a sleep aid. These sessions help me sleep better. I am reading medical articles about hypnotherapy for the gut and also in sports.
Day 5 , It’s still too early in the program to see results but the hypnosis therapy is relaxing and I plan to continuing daily and am hoping for healing results.

If nothing else, I think the free week is a great opportunity to possibly explore new info & techniques for some people. Even if they don’t progress further due to the expense. So far a lot of info offered is basic to those who may have already done a fair amount of their own reading & research, but the meditations are lovely.

I’ve suffered from IBS for years. One approach I tried in the past was hypnosis. It definitely helps, and even if it doesn’t completely eliminate IBS attacks, the relaxation it induces has numerous benefits. Nerva offers an affordable alternative to hypnosis. Literally just started on the app this week so it’s a bit early to render a verdict, but I definitely enjoy the sessions. One enhancement would get the rating to five stars: enable access to sessions off-line. A WiFi connection isn’t always available - for example when traveling. Off-line access would increase the likelihood of consistent, daily use.

I’m only on day 5, it does seem to be helping a bit and I hope it will continue to. I just wanted to point out that with Apple having enabled app developers to use spatial audio, Nerva could have higher quality audio sessions that help to keep my mind focused. If Nerva ends up getting me the results I seek, I will be updating this review to 5 stars. Thanks for the good work so far!
Early days after only recently starting using the app but it’s definitely relaxes me in general and seems to have positively affected my symptoms. I recommend giving it a try but you have to remember to be disciplined and do the sessions every day.

The app is well done and the hypnotherapy person has a pleasant voice. It was worth a try but I don’t think it made any difference to me. I kept falling asleep during the sessions so probably missed a heap. I also didn’t do the deep breathing multiple times a day. Maybe I lacked commitment. I might try again in a few months. There were only about 6 scenarios that got repeated, so I got a bit bored. I would have been more bored if I’d stayed awake! I suspect I am not a good subject. It was worth the money to give it a try.

PROS: I’m into my second week of hypnotherapy, and so far I’ve enjoyed my daily sessions with Nerva. Most importantly, I feel better. I did have an IBS flare during my first week, but it was short lived and symptoms were greatly reduced! I’m feeling very hopeful that this IBS treatment will work for me. It’s only been two weeks, but I’m already benefiting from some other good side effects, such as feeling less anxious and stressed overall. CONS: Navigation of the app itself is simple but a little disappointing because it doesn’t appear to be as robust as it is described in the iOS App Store. I have an iPhone 6, so perhaps an aging cell phone isn’t able to access some of the app’s features. Contacting the FAQ and web counselors is helpful, but they are busy. It would be great if they were able to answer my questions in real time, but I generally have to wait until the next day for them to contact me. All in all, the cons are not as important as the good that I’m deriving from the daily sessions, and I’m glad to have Nerva. I’ll update my review at the end of six weeks!
I’m happy with the results of this at 6 weeks. Not cured but definitely better, I’ve even felt able to try foods that were on my ‘no’ list. A criticism is the price, it’s very expensive for what it is, the recordings repeat each week. I understand…

A criticism is the price, it’s very expensive for what it is, the recordings repeat each week. I understand repetition is part of hypnotherapy but it’s a very basic app with very basic extras for £50! Not sure what justifies the price.......

I downloaded this app as I’ve had IBS symptoms for a few years and hate the low FODMAP diet, so wanted to try something new. It helps I got the Black Friday discount, I was quite wary of paying full price for this - it’s a lot of money, though the money back guarantee is good. Whether coincidence or not, after the 6 weeks my symptoms were significantly improved and my mental health improved too. So I have to give credit in case it’s due! I would say that it’s a little tedious listening to the same thing 7 days in a row though. The maintenance plan really needs some work though. The meditations aren’t even tweaked to reflect the 6 weeks you’ve already spent, they are exactly the same audio, which is a little irritating and can ruin the headspace. I probably won’t keep my subscription as I don’t think I’m getting anything from continuing to listen anymore.

I have IBS and reflux and have been using the Nerva app for the past month or so in conjunction with other major changes (diet, sleep, exercise, etc...). My symptoms have significantly improved (knock on wood!) during that time although I’m definitely not at a point where I can eat whatever I want. I think it’s a solid app and that it has played an important role in things getting better for me. If you use it, however, I would just be aware that you will probably have to make other changes in your life to really completely address IBS (or whatever your abdominal issue is). I would also strongly recommend doing the 5 minute breathing exercise that is an optional part of each session. Technically, the app itself is fine if a little glitchy. I would love it if they would do some kind of follow-up maintenance app.

This app is something that I’ve needed for 10 plus years. And it’s incredible so far But £80 odd quid?? I understand that apps need to make money, but people who need this app have lost out of a lot of their lives because of IBS/anxiety, people can only feel healthy if they put £80 up front? It’s not fair especially with what’s going on at the moment, anxiety levels are so high. I’ll do the 7day trial but after that I’ll just have struggle because I just can’t afford that. It should be an option where you can be charged weekly. If you can’t afford that week, cancel until you can and pick up where you left off.

I have PI IBS and believe a lot of my issues stem from the trauma of the original infection. So hypnotherapy might help! I haven’t noticed a change in symptoms yet, but I love the recordings. The visuals are great and I find myself returning to them mentally throughout the day. The voices are soothing. (I actually prefer the original Australian but the British is nice too. American next?) I want to read more articles on hypnotherapy. I don’t know if I am successfully entering a hypnotic state. The meditation is good anyway. I admit I haven’t used it every day, more like a few times a week. Between the reading, breathing exercise, and recording, week 2 sessions are 30+ minutes long, which is a lot to set aside every day especially for someone new to this. I wish you could choose between a short or long session depending on the day. Also, I’m a planner so I would like to be able to preview later weeks.
In week five and I’ve had some improvement. I do enjoy the hypnotherapy session but I could do without the Kiwi accent. Truly awful. Which in turn makes me feel bad about finding it irritating.
I am really enjoying these sessions they are amazing

This is my first week using Nerva Hypnosis. I started with doubts, having spent my whole life coping with IBS-D and searching for relief. I am an 84 year old retired trauma Informed mental health counselor. I am also a complex trauma survivor. During this first week I am noticing subtle changes in my conscious awareness of tension in my body and in my outlook on life. I am using breath many times during the day to relieve tension. I am also feeling a fragile sense of hope that I could feel better living with this body for the rest of my life❣️ I have been using NERVA hypnosis and breathing techniques for more than a year now. It has been a very challenging year for me at 85 and 1/2 years of age….many losses including my home and most of my belongings in Hurricane Helene. I use a hypnosis session every morning as my body awakens to tension and bowel activity. I seldom have explosive diarrhea anymore and for the first time in my life that I can remember, I experience regular formed bowel movements. I still have IBS symptoms during the day but am able to reassure myself that they are not a dangerous illness. Then I am able to cope with the symptoms with breathing and go on with my day. Eating is still a challenge as many foods in the USA exacerbate my symptoms. I have been using a plant based nutritional supplement from a company in California called Kate Farms which has helped me maintain my weight and soothes my digestive system. I am so grateful to have Nerva hypnosis sessions always available to help me cope with stress and anxiety in my everyday life. I can imagine using them also to ease my way through the dying process when that occurs for me. Thankyou NERVA❣️
These sessions help you to relax and to focus on the breath. It’s my ´me time’.
I feel the Nerva hypnotherapy sessions are already helping me even though this is only my second week of listening.

Over all I really enjoyed it throughout. I really loved the readings, getting to learn all about the science behind a lot of the things I experience and understanding what’s going on with my symptoms was really reassuring. I feel that they were quite repetitive and often over simplistic. The diagrams were great but I think it would have been great to have had a chance to go a bit deeper into the science behind the mind gut connection, IBS and meditation rather than repeating the same few snippets of information over and over again. I loved the guided meditations, I really thought the visualisations and the suggestions were very well done. I definitely saw an improvement in my symptoms after week 2 and when I did experience symptoms I felt more in control of the outcome, and not over run by my condition. It’s a great feeling. My only slight gripe (and it is incredibly slight) with it is that the lessons move on each day, making you feel left behind if you miss one. This may only be an issue for me but I found myself getting stressed about missing one and falling off the momentum, I would’ve preferred to do it at my own pace. At the beginning I ‘signed on’ for a 5 day a week commitment but if you don’t do every day the app doesn’t ‘wait for you’ so I was always catching up. My favourite thing is that it doesn’t dismiss the need for medication and the input of healthcare professionals. I find a lot of holistic healing can be very all or nothing which isn’t helpful. I am grateful that this approach markets itself as just that... an approach. Not a cure, just a management tool for symptoms. Basically, I love it. It is pricey but worth it if you can afford it!
