The information this app gives you and the sessions it provides are very helpful for my IBS symptoms. I just wouldn’t say it’s worth the financial hardship of paying $150 for an app. If you can, use you own self discipline in listening to guided meditation, your own ability to research things like FODMAP diet, the gut brain connection, and the Vagus nerve… it will save you the immense amount of money they charge for these services. I have seen a large improvement, but I was essentially forced to do this as I am working class in America, I have no healthcare, and if I didn’t do something about my IBS symptoms I would surely end up homeless or attempt suicide. So, in that sense, I guess it’s worth $150. But if I would’ve known this app is just extracting immense cash from vulnerable individuals merely to provide something that YouTube can provide for free, I would have never bout Nerva.

I followed the program every day for a long time - it starts at about 20min but then they add daily breathing exercises during so you probably get closer to a half hour. I found the program readings interesting but the hypnosis became dull and repetitive quickly, even with the increased range of visualisations I understand they’ve added recently. Still, the point of it isn’t to be entertaining so I stuck with it. The app is very easy to use and follow.
I was really hoping this would work and while towards the end of the program and for about a month after I had some changes - no major IBS attacks, IBS-C rather than IBS-M, after about a month they all came back in full force. This was really disappointing after spending so long on the program. Just my personal experience.

I like the idea of it and the woman that narrates is very soothing. I believe that mindfulness is key to helping our bodies feel better. However, after about three weeks of doing it, I noticed that the meditations essentially just repeated over and over. I am not sure why I would spend $80 every three months to listen to the same things.
They should just sell you the package and then have you own and use when you wish.

Once behind, the lessons planned did not adjust or wait, and a new user who has not perfectly integrated this program into their schedule is left wondering what was missed.

I like the app and the interface, well designed. I didn’t like the immediate sell at the end of each hypnosis session to ‘refer a friend’ which wound me up. I don’t have any friends with IBS and this irritating nudge for the first 2(?)weeks is badly placed to make you click.
I got a discount code from an affiliated blog site so spent around £42 on six week programme, incl the trial.
Unfortunately my symptoms were significantly worse during the six weeks. They improved again when I stopped, so I guess I’m one of the unlucky ones.
It was worth a try, especially at the discounted rate. I cancelled the auto-renewal after week 6 and haven’t bothered with the maintenance repeats.
Agree with others that the recordings are repetitive. I know thy are supposed to be, but I think re-recordings of the same sessions would mitigate this, I got used to the vocal nuances in each recording and found that my mind wandered because it didn’t feel ‘new’. Also, I’d record the whole hypnosis in one studio session, rather than splicing together different recordings for the daily repeated words, at times there were slight alterations in tone/pace and this jarred me out of the trance. This wouldn’t happen in a live hypnotherapy session.

Definitely feel calmer, think I managed 8 weeks daily and a couple more weeks most days. Miss it if I don’t do it but unsure if any significant improvement in gut symptoms as they vary anyway. Having told you this may be all you need before signing up they do advise to watch what you eat midway through.
Doesn’t feel good value after initial 6 weeks, even during the first 6 weeks the same sessions are repeated but there’s no way to rate them so you know which you get on with better - some I found a bit annoying.
Haven’t really done the breathing, there are only 3 variations and I’m not sure they felt right for me.

Maybe with AI this app could be improved but a one size fit for all just does not work for all wouldn’t that be great if it did. I believe it could work if you actually could be prompted to enter a true dream phase of consciousness

A good idea in theory, there are three main issues I have noticed:
1. The hypnotherapy sessions are visualisation based. If you have aphantasia, like me (no images in your head) then it gets quite frustrating.
2. Telling sometime to ‘imagine a nice, relaxing sensation’ does not actually cause or create a sense of relaxation. A lot more needs to be done to actually trigger relaxation in the nervous system, especially if you have mental illness. Somatic exercises, such as progressive relaxation technique need to be included.
3. The tracking does not taking into account other things you may be doing outside the app to improve your symptoms. It’s also very vague and doesn’t include any way to track food etc. The app allows you to share the data with a healthcare professional, but would provide little benefit other than to show you have the condition you already know you have.

I’ve got other hypnosis apps on my phone that I paid only £6.99 for and they’re mine to use forever.
Not sure why they want money constantly for something I’d already purchased.
Be careful.

Completed the whole six weeks. Twice. Saw little to no improvement. Relaxing enough but no real changes to symptoms or long term issues as far as I could tell. Probably works for some, maybe I am just not the hypnotisable type.

But for me the relaxation visualizations were silly and repetitive. there’s also some good practical information in the readings but it is all very basic stuff available elsewhere that I knew having this disease for many years So it could be good for some one newly diagnosed with mild ibs but it didn’t help me.

I’ve suffered from IBS for over 20 years and have tried nearly everything. I’ve been curious about hypnotherapy and thought this would be a goos option. It is, for about the first week.
See, this app involves two things, a daily reading and a daily guided meditation session. The problem is, the reading is worthless; for anyone suffering IBS this is information that comes up on the first google search or webmd. How the colon works, what a good consistency is, etc.
The guided mediation is actually great - at first. Each session walks you through a relaxation period and then a scenario - walking on the beach, in an old book store, etc. These are great! The problem is there are only 7 of them for the entire 6 week period. That means that you listen to the same 7 stories every single week, and it’s frustrating.
I wanted a miracle cure and unfortunately this app is over inflated snake oil.

The app repeatedly says if you have to miss a day, it’s ok. Well I missed a few here & there & the app went on without me. It accelerated to the end without me & denied me access to previous day even though I still had an active subscription. I ended up losing the whole last week. I wrote emails, sent screen shots, and nothing. I was repeatedly told my concerns were being sent to the higher ups but never heard back after that. They certainly send me emails now that my subscription time is over, asking for more $$$. No emails about allowing me access to the program I paid for and didn’t get access to. The breathing exercises & the like are helpful & calming but the lack of assistance & money grabbing are definitely not.

I think it’s a little unfair but I get supply and demand. It’s a niche product and little competitors right now so extort as much of the consumer willingness-to-pay in the price.
I didn’t feel any effects and I suffer from IBS(pain, runny stools, bad appetite) and have been for a long time. No short and definitely no long term benefits for me personally.
The best way to target IBS after years of self study is an elimination diet. I wish you all luck!

Support was not very good and I learned you basically get 6 weeks no matter how many of the sessions you listened to….
I was able to get the app working again after several back and forth emails (no phone support) and to be honest the stress of this kind of turned me off.
I feel like this app is more about the money than healing. Like I mentioned 6 weeks doesn’t matter how many sessions you do and you can’t go back to read the other part of the session. I was doing these at night so missed all the reading.
The silly part was I kept getting emails from Nerva telling me how great I was doing. So automatic emails that know nothing of where you are on the program.
I did like some of the sessions but quickly learned most are a copy and paste on the relaxation part which was annoying since this app is not cheap.
I do believe there is potential here but until the app is constructed toward the user and not geared toward a “keep you paying model” wasn’t really impressed.
More annoying you have to keep paying if you want to listen to them again.
Then at the end you are expected to pay for a maintenance program…..hmmmmmm No Thanks!

An app was never going to be as tailored as 121 hypnotherapy, but since it was created by a leading ibs specialist, it’s odd that there isn’t two versions of each session for ibs-c and ibs-d, as they’re completely the opposite symptom wise. I found myself tensing up a fair bit when they said about ‘flowing freely’ and phrases like this as for me, that’s exactly the opposite of what I want to happen. I also get panic attacks when out in nature irl because that often means there’s no access to a bathroom - and most of their visualisations are out in nature. The app itself was very easy to use and well structured, it’s just so disappointing that the actual hypno content was so counter productive. Maybe if they make one specifically for ibs d I will consider purchasing. But my symptoms did not change. If you have ibs-m you might be ok!
