Ross’ journey with back pain
At 61 yrs old, my back pain history is long. The pain has been progressively getting worse over more than 20 years, at times stopping me from working and filling me with fear for my future.
My doctor looked at scans and suggested surgery or modifying my lifestyle, I chose to avoid surgery and I started to feel a bit better.
Finding the link between pain and the brain
I have a stubborn pain threshold so I increased my workload, but pain of differing levels continued.
At some point I realised when getting up from the lounge, that my brain was expecting pain, even when there was none, and I would groan automatically.
I was using meditation to try and help as I am a bit hypersensitive to life.
Finding Relio
I then discovered the Relio program which was aligned with my thinking.
I enjoyed what it was offering. The hypnotherapy as well as the educational reading made me realise that being more relaxed at work was a major part.

Advice for others considering Relio
If you recognise yourself in my story then you'll know there are no quick fixes, I've certainly looked for them.
Relio offers a path to new habits, mentally and physically. Don't wander off the path if you felt it's positive effects - I felt it, it's about forming new habits. Consistency is the key. Be gentle on yourself and commit. I see it as a life tool and will continue to use it.
