I believe I am the one who can free myself . I am afraid . I see I have been so severely depressed and ANXIOUS. I am getting more comfortable in the bathroom. It was a torture. room for so long . I am getting comfortable sitting on the toilet and sometimes I am starting to relax. It is not so much doing I think as relaxing and allowing. It doesn’t happen overnight and that’s ok . My pain is significantly better more days.

The IBS Nerva App, is amazing. I was inspired to use it by seeing how it changed my son’s life. I found the daily six week program easy to commit to, as positive results happened very quickly.
I loved the clarity of the daily research based information, that gave insight and understanding to the impact of the vagus nerve and sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, in relationship to connection with mind and gut and anxiety. Plus ways of coping with Anxiety. It would have been helpful to be able to download this information, for future reference.
Every hypnotherapy session left me feeling calm and positive. A great start to the day and a tool I could return to as required.
I completed the course with a 63% improvement and am now repeating the hypnotherapy sessions offered. I am disappointed the information segment is not available.
The personalised professional prompt response from the Nerva team to my queries was exceptional.
Congratulations and many thanks to the research team and all involved in developing the Nerva App.

Was recommended this app by my ND. I tested out the free trial and was unfortunately only able to try it for two days as I was too busy to stay on top of it. I was skeptical about the “hypnotic” aspect, but I honestly think that it did work - I’ve meditated before but never been put in such a different state that I couldn’t recognize! And the stories told were quite soothing and comforting to think about and hold onto when feeling anxious outside of it. Overall a good experience I just wasn’t able to keep up with it to experience the full healing it says it can deliver. Devina and Tia (customer service) was also extremely helpful! Will try again someday.

Also, my gut was irritating me a bit this morning (probably stress related) so I sit down for a hypnotherapy session to see if it would improve. Immediately following the session, I felt incredibly calm and my gut honestly felt better and much more manageable. Looking forward to permanent improvements over the coming weeks and months.

Regardless of symptoms I think the program helped me cope with it better. The program is well done, informative, and supportive. Many months after completion I still return to the guided meditations when I’m feeling stressed or particularly down about my symptoms.
I would recommend others suffering with IBS to try it. Even if it didn’t work for me, it might for you or you’ll get a similar value from it.

The app is very user friendly and beautifully designed with daily readings, hypnotherapy tracks (like meditation) and breathing exercises. Unfortunately for me my physical symptoms haven’t changed much over the 6 weeks but I do think it has helped with overall stress/anxiety reduction anyway, which is always a positive. I’m going to carry on with it, as I do believe in the gut-brain connection, and try cutting out some high fodmap foods in combination.

I understand that the purpose of the hypnotherapy portion is to set the stage for one to accept suggestions to calm the autonomic nervous system. This helps to heal the gut. I find that, in addition, it can help with other anxiety-producing occurrences I face daily; “catastrophes". I have used a form of hypnotherapy for years as a sleep aid. These sessions help me sleep better. I am reading medical articles about hypnotherapy for the gut and also in sports.

PROS: I’m into my second week of hypnotherapy, and so far I’ve enjoyed my daily sessions with Nerva. Most importantly, I feel better. I did have an IBS flare during my first week, but it was short lived and symptoms were greatly reduced! I’m feeling very hopeful that this IBS treatment will work for me. It’s only been two weeks, but I’m already benefiting from some other good side effects, such as feeling less anxious and stressed overall.
CONS: Navigation of the app itself is simple but a little disappointing because it doesn’t appear to be as robust as it is described in the iOS App Store. I have an iPhone 6, so perhaps an aging cell phone isn’t able to access some of the app’s features. Contacting the FAQ and web counselors is helpful, but they are busy. It would be great if they were able to answer my questions in real time, but I generally have to wait until the next day for them to contact me.
All in all, the cons are not as important as the good that I’m deriving from the daily sessions, and I’m glad to have Nerva. I’ll update my review at the end of six weeks!

I understand that apps need to make money, but people who need this app have lost out of a lot of their lives because of IBS/anxiety, people can only feel healthy if they put £80 up front? It’s not fair especially with what’s going on at the moment, anxiety levels are so high.
I’ll do the 7day trial but after that I’ll just have struggle because I just can’t afford that. It should be an option where you can be charged weekly. If you can’t afford that week, cancel until you can and pick up where you left off.

I just completed week 2 after starting the program 4 months ago (ik ik, shhh) and part of why it took so long is because after week one I went several weeks without a single attack! I noticed them starting back up though so I decided to keep going, and heading into week 3 I’m very confident in this program. I haven’t changed my diet at all, but I have removed some stress inducing things in my life which I believe is also helping. This program feels like it gives me more control over my symptoms and if it helped that much after a week, I can’t wait to see how much better I feel after 6!

This is my first week using Nerva Hypnosis. I started with doubts, having spent my whole life coping with IBS-D and searching for relief. I am an 84 year old retired trauma Informed mental health counselor. I am also a complex trauma survivor. During this first week I am noticing subtle changes in my conscious awareness of tension in my body and in my outlook on life. I am using breath many times during the day to relieve tension. I am also feeling a fragile sense of hope that I could feel better living with this body for the rest of my life❣️ I have been using NERVA hypnosis and breathing techniques for more than a year now. It has been a very challenging year for me at 85 and 1/2 years of age….many losses including my home and most of my belongings in Hurricane Helene. I use a hypnosis session every morning as my body awakens to tension and bowel activity. I seldom have explosive diarrhea anymore and for the first time in my life that I can remember, I experience regular formed bowel movements. I still have IBS symptoms during the day but am able to reassure myself that they are not a dangerous illness. Then I am able to cope with the symptoms with breathing and go on with my day. Eating is still a challenge as many foods in the USA exacerbate my symptoms. I have been using a plant based nutritional supplement from a company in California called Kate Farms which has helped me maintain my weight and soothes my digestive system. I am so grateful to have Nerva hypnosis sessions always available to help me cope with stress and anxiety in my everyday life. I can imagine using them also to ease my way through the dying process when that occurs for me. Thankyou NERVA❣️

Over all I really enjoyed it throughout.
I really loved the readings, getting to learn all about the science behind a lot of the things I experience and understanding what’s going on with my symptoms was really reassuring. I feel that they were quite repetitive and often over simplistic. The diagrams were great but I think it would have been great to have had a chance to go a bit deeper into the science behind the mind gut connection, IBS and meditation rather than repeating the same few snippets of information over and over again.
I loved the guided meditations, I really thought the visualisations and the suggestions were very well done. I definitely saw an improvement in my symptoms after week 2 and when I did experience symptoms I felt more in control of the outcome, and not over run by my condition. It’s a great feeling.
My only slight gripe (and it is incredibly slight) with it is that the lessons move on each day, making you feel left behind if you miss one. This may only be an issue for me but I found myself getting stressed about missing one and falling off the momentum, I would’ve preferred to do it at my own pace. At the beginning I ‘signed on’ for a 5 day a week commitment but if you don’t do every day the app doesn’t ‘wait for you’ so I was always catching up.
My favourite thing is that it doesn’t dismiss the need for medication and the input of healthcare professionals. I find a lot of holistic healing can be very all or nothing which isn’t helpful. I am grateful that this approach markets itself as just that... an approach. Not a cure, just a management tool for symptoms.
Basically, I love it. It is pricey but worth it if you can afford it!

I have completed about 20 sessions. I’m on my 4th week. Results are expected after 6 weeks. So anyone who tells you they had results within days is really an outlier. I have had no results yet. I am somewhat discouraged though, not due to the lack of results, but due to the content. While I have IBS or IBS like symptoms, there is way too much content about anxiety for me. I am not experiencing the issues they discuss in the hypnotherapy. Their words are not resonating with me. And there is a ton of reading and other activities to do besides the 16-17 min hypnotherapy session daily. It’s a lot of time. And when the content is not pulling you in, it’s hard to motivate to make all of that time.

I like the app and the idea of gut-related hypnotherapy. I just wish the same verbal prompts weren’t repeated at the same points in the session every day. It’s distracting in that I’m repeating what she’s saying along with her. I have the “text” memorized. Only the visualization portion changes each day so far (I have done 7 days of it). I’m not sure whether to subscribe for the full year or not, but I am seeing some benefits. Repetitive prompts and wording are why I stopped using the headspace meditation app. He said the same thing every day, and I wasn’t focusing - I was repeating the words along with him. Only a small portion of his program changed. I went to using Calm for meditation because she changes it every day. She doesn’t say the same words over and over again. Nerva subscription is expensive. I’m hoping she doesn’t say the same thing every day for six weeks.
Updated in week 3. Maybe this app isn’t for me. She’s now repeating the visualizations too. I’m not an outdoorsy type person. Imagining I’m clearing my way through overgrown brush or bathing in a hot spring of mineral waters gives me anxiety. It does NOT relax me at all. I’m finding myself skipping parts of the repeated sessions or verbally disagreeing out loud with the “narrator”. I think I wasted my money. Is it too much to ask for fresh material every day?
