I am a skeptic when it comes to this type of stuff. I went in thinking it probably won’t work but I could use some new meditations! Week 3 rolled around and I took two car rides that are normally super stressful for me. I normally leave an hour or more early so I can stop several times to go to the bathroom. However both times I drove straight through. The first one it didn’t even click until I parked and was 30 mins early! Then I was like well that was probably a coincidence. Then came the second stressful car trip. Same thing happened. I was in shock. Then I rode with my someone who can make a none anxious person without IBS have issues haha! Nothing. No IBS. no car anxiety! Just a great drive and great conversations. No swearing or searching out bathrooms along the way!! I then lapses week 4. The next car trip I was anxious and had to stop 1 time. My husband said guess you should start that program back up. So I did. Now I’m on my last week and I’m hooked. I have seen therapist, doctors, did deep breathing and meditations and taken tons of medications - nothing has worked for 14 years! FOURTEEN! Six weeks in and I’m taking car trips again. In fact I’m planning on doing my first long distance trip in years next month and LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!!! Download this app and give it a try. Do the plan like they ask! It makes a difference. I’m no longer a skeptic and now a believer! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I’ve had quite serious digestive issues on and off for over 5 years. They tend to flare up to a debilitating level (ie not being able to work, enjoy holidays, leave the house for long periods of time) for months at a time and I’ve undergone all types of invasive testing and diets to no avail. Nothing has worked so I’ve been willing to try absolutely anything as the years have gone on. Worth noting that Ive previously been very skeptical of mediation in general, just not my thing. Amazingly, after about 10 days I started seeing a dramatic reduction in my symptoms after using Nerva everyday. I must caveat that simultaneously I’ve been following a relatively low FODMAP diet and consciously trying to reduce stress on my body, but without a doubt Nerva has contributed to the reduction in symptoms (I have tried these things before Nerva and they have not helped at all). I am now on week 5 with nearly 3 clear weeks of virtually no symptoms. This is the best my stomach has been in years and I feel happier and healthier than ever. I have no doubt that there is a mental component to this, and believing that it will help you may well be a factor in its effectiveness. That being said, if you have tried everything and don’t know where else to go, it is a very small price to pay for something that could change your life for the better. Thank you to those who made this app, it has truly changed my life !
I love this app!! Helps with IBS and anxiety. It really works!

My IBS started when I went off to college in 1973. That’s such a long time to be dealing with chronic digestive issues. Pain from gas, bloating, squeezing feeling in my intestines from hyper motility, intermittent diarrhea and constipation, endless testing and you know the rest. No food plans have helped and I’ve tried most of them. Many of course made my symptoms worse. Even Low Fodmap diet didn’t help at all. Staying away from white foods was the most helpful, but no matter what, I still missed out on a lot due to symptoms. Turns out the Dr at the student health center was on the right track all those years ago when she had me doing progressive relaxation. It didn’t work for me then, but it did this time. I’ve done quite a bit of meditation through apps in the last few years to calm my anxiety and ADD, yes I’m that person. Somewhere I saw the info on the Verve App and decided that it was worth my time and money to calm down my nervous system. I enjoyed all of the daily sessions and have learned so much about how to calm my system down and activate the vagus system. I am a scientist, so was encouraged by the science and common sense behind each week. Every morning I would start the day with the reading and the meditation, or sometimes at night. By week four everything started to settle down, and today as I finish my 6 weeks , I am grateful for all the lessons learned and look forward to being able to eat without so much fear on a long awaited trip to Italy. Thanks so much. Susan
After day 3 I’m already feeling more relaxed: mind & body. Helping with my IBS-C as well as depression & anxiety.

By way of background, I’m 35 years old and for circa 10 years I’ve suffered dreadfully from IBS and the pain, nausea, bloating etc. that comes with it. Whilst in London I spoke with numerous Dr’s and dieticians, one who said I had an allergy to garlic - turns out I don’t. I just couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. The more I got stressed about that, the more my symptoms flared, to the point where I was sleeping sitting upright for months on end. Fast forward to 2020 when I visited a fantastic gastrointestinal Dr in Melbourne, a leader in her field, and she knew in an instant it was IBS and set out a few steps to address the issue. She started with looking at my diet and making changes (FODMAP), she checked my bloods (then booked me in for an iron infusion), did a colonoscopy, prescribed vitamins and fibre, set me on a course to increase fluid intake and exercise / more incl. meditation and finally gut hypnotherapy. Admittedly, I thought the latter was a little hocus pocus and I went into it thinking it wouldn’t do anything. How wrong I was! Whilst my Dr recommended a specialist who did gut hypnotherapy, they had a waiting list of 2-3 months, they were 1 hr drive away and then Covid lockdowns kicked in. That’s when I found Nerva (and cue the clapping hands). I did Nerva every evening before bed which was very convenient. I like that I can do it anytime, anywhere especially as I don’t have much spare time. I also like that Nerva reminds me to do the hypno session, again as I’m usually running around / flat out and at risk of forgetting to do it. If I can’t make the session the reminder is set for, I’ll push it back to later that evening - something I wouldn’t be able to do if I was booked in to see someone. Also a specialist gut hypnotherapist is more expensive than the app. Once I completed the course, I felt so much better. I wasn’t bloating up as much or at least feeling the pain that goes with it and nausea was almost zero. I’ve been sleeping better too, not once needing to sit up to sleep. I have less flare ups but they still happen every now and then - but less frequently than before. When they happen I immediately turn to Nerva, it’s there at my fingertips when I need it. The flare up tool kit is just want I need to manage my symptoms. I’m not one to write reviews but I would encourage anyone suffering from IBS to give it a go. Whilst it might not work for everyone, it’s completely transformed how I feel, eat and live. Thank you team Nerva!!

These are guided meditations with a hint of hypnotherapy (that’s how I’d describe them). I was scared of hypnosis but I had nothing to worry about. The stories in the meditations are really lovely. The woman’s voice is amazing 🤩. I can’t stand the hypnotherapy voice you find on you tube videos but this is much more natural and what she says is motivating, healing and supportive. There is 7 meditations/hypnotherapy sessions which are repeated but to me this has been a good thing because I want to know them by heart. Phrases come into my mind during the day which help keep me positive and hopeful. I have simultaneously changed my diet so I can’t say if it will help if you don’t change your diet but I am certain it’s helped me mentally and what with everything being about the gut brain connection these days I’m sure it’s not a bad thing. I listen to it in the morning before I get up and Lind of fall asleep to it every night. I would like some more meditations but maybe not right away because I think you need to focus on the first ones rather than being distracted by more content ( ooo the brain loves more new content so much more exciting than working on what’s here and now), I think also I would like the content by surprise so I don’t feel I’m working towards it because that would detract (me anyway) from the focus of the whole point of the app. Great work Nerva! I don’t think I can afford more than 3 months but I’ll definitely enjoy what I have whilst I have it. I actually give it to my disabled husband to listen to every morning to who has bowel issues due to his disability and his bowels have been better too. Like me he has changed his diet but only slightly but hasn’t used laxatives since using the app and he’s been more regular than usual! It’s expensive compared to other apps but it’s cheaper than take and other treats or stuff less important in life that las ya minutes that will not enhance your daily life like this could. 🥰
Absurd fantastic - my constant gut problems have disappeared.I do the breathing exercise anytime I feel stressed.

I am in the middle of Week 3, and have had a great experience and significant improvement in my symptoms. I am a woman in my early 50’s, had an IBS diagnosis in my 20’s, but it wasn’t a big deal and with minor diet and lifestyle change, disappeared basically for 30 years. With hormonal changes and some significant life stress, it came back in a much worse way about 2 years ago. It impacted my life on a day to day basis. I had abdominal cramping, urgency, very unhappy with the consistency of stuff, etc. I felt nauseous waking in the morning. Trying to travel and sit through meetings for work and do workouts like this was horrible. My anxiety went through the roof and insomnia was constant. It was definitely a cycle. I saw a Gastro, who ultimately diagnosed SIBO, and I took antibiotics. They helped, but did not resolve my symptoms. I was determined to do whatever I could to heal. I retained a dietician; did FODMAP, got the Monash App on my phone, lost 10 pounds (I was a size 4, now back to my normal 2), tried to identify trigger foods (couldn’t really) started psychotherapy for the anxiety; switched from Ambien (which was making my wakeful anxiety worse) to Xanax when I needed it; continued yoga, started daily meditation and journaling. In February, I consulted a functional medicine doctor and started a program to re-balance my flora—after identifying that I had a Citrobacteria overgrowth— with probiotics. That helped significantly, but I still woke with urgency and still was not happy with consistency. I would still have days of cramping. Within 2 days of starting this program, the urgency slowed and then stopped. It was amazing!!!! And has not returned since!!! Also, the consistency is the best it has been through this entire journey. 4 days out of 7 this week I would describe it as perfect! The other 3 were normal, but I’m a perfectionist so didn’t score them a 10. Lol. But seriously, this seems to have been a game changer for me, and I want to thank you so much! I only hope that my success is as thorough as your studies have shown and continues as they suggest. THANK YOU!!!💕

I was very surprised by how effective hypnotherapy is for managing my symptoms and the chronic pain associated with IBS. I was dealing with a stressful time, experiencing severe daily abdominal pain that impacted both my productivity and quality of life. The ongoing symptoms in turn made me more stressed and anxious - it was a stress-symptom cycle. I had tried the low FODMAP diet and was becoming desperate to ease my symptoms. I decided to give the Nerva programme a chance and I’m so glad I did. Within the first week my daily abdominal pain and discomfort had eased and was manageable. By week 5 I’d almost forgotten about my IBS symptoms completely. I feel like I have my life back. It’s important to remember that the programme is a not a cure for IBS but a management tool. I do still occasionally get discomfort (brought on by stress or lifestyle changes) but the debilitating pain and other symptoms are no longer running my life. In terms of the cost of this app - I can understand why people are irritated it is not free when it is a relatively new app etc. My view is that Nerva has been created by expert specialists in the field and the quality of the hypnotherapy recordings are high. Hypnotherapy is not a cheap treatment face-to-face and considering the convenience offered by this app (and the constant support received by the Nerva team), in my opinion, it is good value for money and 100% worth the cost, if like me you are desperate to manage your IBS symptoms and get your life back.
It is 15th week of practicing Hypnosis program for IBS. Happy to report that I am free from IBS. Thanks But when I have very stressful days or events I experience regressions

The only real difference that would of given this app a 5-star review would be the repetitive sessions, I’d just like some more variety as well as the ability to choose what kind of hypnosis was going to be done in that days session. At least that’s what I’ve experienced in the initial course. Other than that, I really enjoyed the narrator, the ease of use & most of all, the little 3-5 minute reads to accompany the session. Will try my best to do this as frequently as possible going forward, personally I’m unsure if it’s helped much with actual symptoms - but my anxiety & ‘catastrophizing’ has certainly been reduced
I have seen improvement in my IBS-D over a few months. While it is helpful in reducing flares, the Nerva program works best with when one is mindful of food triggers, anxiety levels and getting sufficient sleep.

Just starting out but I can say that I’m already experiencing fewer symptoms and having less anxiety when I do experience any. I’m hopeful this program will help me like nothing else has. It’s only day 5 but it’s definitely doing something good!
I know that stress and anxiety is a big trigger for by tummy issues. So these sessions have been great at helping to switch off and calm my mind. I’ve noticed I’ve had less flare ups reducing my pain overall. So thanks Nerva.

It is a pleasure to write a review of the Nerva App as I can say truthfully it has revolutionised my life. I am 75 years old and have suffered from IBS for a long time and tried every possible remedy with sometimes a small degree of success but none has had the impact of Nerva. I have been using the app for approximately 6 months and have seen a consistent improvement and a significant reduction in the use of anti diarrhoeal medication. My diet has improved and I am now eating a greater variety of food as previously in an attempt to manage my bowel condition I restricted my choice of vegetables in particular. I had in the past followed the FODMAP diet with a modicum of success. I am now more confident in using public transport and staying away from home for holidays and visits to family. I used to dread leaving home as I constantly worried about finding a toilet and the possibility of faecal incontinence as my bowels sometimes moved up to nine times a day. The only small comment I would make is that I would find a bell or other sound helpful to signify the end of the breathing exercises. Thank you for your work into this distressing condition. In 2021 I enrolled in a 90-day program from Nerva to help with my IBS symptoms, with great results. Even after the 90-day subscription ended, my IBS remained largely under control for almost 2 years, which was wonderful. Recently my symptoms have worsened again due to stressful life circumstances, so I was hoping to re-enroll for another 90-day program to help with this acute flare-up. However, the only option I could see was the $150 yearly subscription. What happened to the shorter subscription options? This was such a great tool for me, but I don’t need another annual subscription to worry (or forget) about. I’m sure I’m not the only person who would rather have the option to re-enroll as needed, even if it technically costs a little more.
