Record your symptoms

It’s been six weeks since we started this journey together. Take a moment to reflect on how your symptoms have felt over the past 7 days. We’ll compare them to where you started, then talk about what comes next.

Thank you

By sharing your experience with us, you’re helping to improve the program for everyone.

Take a moment to reflect on the answers you’ve shared: you may wish to speak to your healthcare provider about them.

Remember: it’s essential to check with your doctor before making any medical decisions, including self-diagnosing mental health concerns.

  1. 1Free assessment

We’ll contact the patient to complete a free assessment, including their symptom history and goals, to assess suitability and likelihood of benefit.

    • Intake and screening happen here, before the program starts.
    • We let you know once your patient has started.
  2. 2Personalized protocol

Patients complete a daily 15-minute session that includes education on IBS, diaphragmatic breathing, and an audio gut–brain retraining session with guided imagery and therapeutic suggestions.

    • The Nerva team checks in with the patient by email through the program.
    • Patients who screen high on PHQ-4 are escalated. That pathway is not in this demo yet.
  3. 3Results and reports

Most patients see improvements within 4–6 weeks, and research has shown these results can be durable. We’ll send a report back to you with the patient’s outcomes and engagement.

    • Symptoms are recorded in the app at the end of each week, and those scores are what the report is built from.

Patient journey begins here

The patient journey has been refined over seven years and nearly 195,000 users, and is backed by 15+ studies including a peer-reviewed randomised controlled trial run with Monash University, plus published research with Mayo Clinic and Mount Sinai. Published real-world data shows that people referred to Nerva by a clinician are more likely to complete the program, and completing it is what drives meaningful symptom management. 20,000+ clinicians have now referred a patient to Nerva, a number that grows every day.

Hypnotherapy sessions and favourites live here

Every session can be saved. After the six weeks patients keep the ones that worked, so the app becomes their own kit of go-to sessions. Our Nerva hypnotherapy is backed by years of research. In the randomised controlled trial run in collaboration with Monash University, 81% of people saw significant improvements in symptom management.

Program overview, progress, education and breathing exercises here

Where patients can see an overview of all 42 days, further readings and the breathing exercises for flare-ups. In a study of 38,000+ users run in collaboration with Mayo Clinic, the more diaphragmatic breathing people practiced, the better they managed bloating, abdominal pain and wind over six weeks.
